Diamond Food posts 3Q loss, revenue up
Diamond Foods Inc., the food company that makes Pop Secret popcorn and Emerald nuts, said Thursday that it lost $4.3 million in the fiscal third quarter.
For the three months that ended April 30, Diamond Food’s net loss amounted to 22 cents per share. That compares with a previous year’s profit of $2.7 million, or 16 cents per share.
But, excluding a series of one-time items related to costs associated with its March acquisition of Kettle Foods, the company’s profit amounted to 30 cents per share.
Net revenue rose 25 percent to $138.7 million, up from $111 million.
