Food & Wine co-founder and editor dies at 78

Sad news from the food media world, as Michael Batterberry has passed away. Batterberry was one of the country’s most influential food writers, as the creator, founder and publisher of two major magazines: Food & Wine and Food Arts. He also wrote 18 books on a variety of topics, including food.

Just this spring, he — along with his wife Ariane, a founding editor/publisher of  Food Artsand co-author on some of his books — received the James Beard Lifetime Achievement Award.
